Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Nuanbao Sighs

Reborn in the 1980s Becoming the Group's Darling Little Lucky Treasure

Nuanbao was the nickname the Yu family gave her after three days of discussion.

Yu Nuannuan accepted this nickname quite well and gave Yu Hai a sweet smile.

Just as she expected, the moment she smiled, Yu Hai smiled right back at her.

Even though Yu Nuannuan had seen this face countless times, she still thought it was a particularly handsome one—exceptionally so!

Chen Qiaoqin, who was eating at the time, turned her head and caught sight of this scene, and couldn’t help but smile as well. “You two, father and daughter, just stare at each other and grin all day. I really don’t know what you’re both so silly and happy about!”

Though that’s what she said, her own smile was just as unrestrained as theirs.

After the full moon banquet, Yu Nuannuan was finally allowed out of the house, but only when the sun was out at noon and there was no wind. Then, someone would carry her out to the yard for a bit of sunshine.

Even so, Yu Nuannuan was content.

After all, she was just a baby, with absolutely no say in anything!

Forget having a say—she couldn’t even talk yet.

At that moment, Chen Qiaoqin was holding Yu Nuannuan out in the sun when the youngest grandson of the Yu family, Yu Gang, toddled over.

Yu Gang was only two years old and still spoke with a baby’s lisp.

He reached out his little hand to Yu Nuannuan. “Meimei, eat!”

Chen Qiaoqin looked at Yu Gang with a smile. “Little Six, what are you giving your little sister to eat?”

Yu Gang opened his palm, revealing a few kernels of corn. One of them slipped out and happened to land right next to Yu Nuannuan’s hand.

Yu Nuannuan moved her hand and grasped the corn kernel in her palm.

She’d been here long enough to understand the Yu family’s situation well.

This family was truly poor. Aside from Chen Qiaoqin, who was still in confinement, the adults in the house probably only ever ate until they were about seventy percent full.

If only she still had her powers!

As Yu Nuannuan was thinking this, she suddenly felt something odd in her palm, as if something was trying to break free.

She lifted her hand and saw a tiny green sprout poking out from between her fingers.

What?!!!

Yu Nuannuan was still caught up in her surprise when she heard Chen Qiaoqin exclaim, “Nuanbao, what are you holding?”

Chen Qiaoqin quickly pried open Yu Nuannuan’s fingers and saw the corn kernel inside had already sprouted. She was baffled. “Where did this come from?”

Yu Nuannuan, just a baby barely a month old, obviously couldn’t answer her question.

Two-year-old Yu Gang had no idea what was going on either.

After puzzling over it for a while, Chen Qiaoqin soon put it out of her mind.

She figured Yu Nuannuan must have grabbed it from somewhere. She knew from experience that, no matter how small they were, babies’ hands could be lightning fast!

At this moment, Yu Nuannuan didn’t care what Chen Qiaoqin was thinking—she was almost dizzy with delight.

She’d thought that just being able to live again was already the greatest stroke of luck.

She never imagined her powers would come with her too!

With her powers, how could she not lead the family to prosperity?

But reality soon proved Yu Nuannuan was being too optimistic.

From that day until she learned to sit up, she didn’t get her hands on another seed.

Yu Nuannuan learned to sit at six months old, steady as could be—not at all like other babies who wobbled and toppled over.

Although she loved sitting up and taking in the world, a baby’s stamina was limited. Before long, she’d have to lie down again.

Staring up at the thatched roof, Yu Nuannuan let out a sigh. When would she finally be able to walk?

She was so anxious!

“Oh my, I just got here and I already hear Nuanbao sighing. What’s the matter now?”"
