Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Reborn in the 1980s After the Apocalypse

Reborn in the 1980s Becoming the Group's Darling Little Lucky Treasure

Yu Hai still went out!

Along with him, Zhang Yugu and her two sisters-in-law also left the room.

It was Chen Qiaoqin’s first time being a mother, so she was inevitably a bit shy. Asking her to breastfeed in front of so many people was really too much to ask.

If she hadn’t been worried that Chen Qiaoqin wouldn’t know what to do, Xu Shuhua would have wanted to go out as well.

With Xu Shuhua there to help, the breastfeeding went fairly smoothly.

At first, Yu Nuannuan felt a bit awkward, but the feeling of hunger was truly unbearable. After just a moment’s hesitation, she started eating eagerly.

A full belly, a warm embrace—compared to the apocalypse, this was practically a heavenly life.

Even so, Yu Nuannuan still didn’t know why she had ended up here, or why she’d become a newborn baby.

She remembered clearly that after the apocalypse, she’d awakened a plant-based superpower. The only thing she could do was accelerate plant growth.

As long as she had a seed, she could harvest a bowl of grain.

In a world where food and water were scarce, this power was useful at first.

But as time went on, seeds became harder to find, zombies grew stronger, and she had no ability to attack zombies—or even protect herself very well.

Eventually, during yet another zombie siege, she was abandoned by her team and died at the hands of the zombies.

Yu Nuannuan could still remember the pain of being bitten—the kind of agony that made her wish she were dead.

She thought she was done for, but unexpectedly, she got to live again.

Not only did she have a new life, but it seemed she also had a family who truly adored her.

After eating her fill, Yu Nuannuan soon fell asleep again.

That’s life as a baby: eat, sleep, repeat. In the blink of an eye, several days passed, and Yu Nuannuan’s eyes could finally see clearly.

But once she got a good look at her surroundings, Yu Nuannuan’s breath caught in her throat—she almost thought there was something wrong with her eyes.

Yellow earthen walls, embedded with chopped-up straw.

The roof was made entirely of thatch, supported by a few wooden beams.

The house wasn’t very tall, and the windows were tiny, so even during the day, it was rather dim inside.

Even after living through the apocalypse, Yu Nuannuan had never stayed in a place like this.

After all, even in the apocalypse, there was still technology and superpowers—houses only got sturdier.

She’d only ever seen such shabby, primitive houses on TV dramas.

They must be from the 1980s or 1990s, and only in the poorest rural areas.

So, had she come to the 1980s or 1990s?

Was it the 80s or the 90s?

That question didn’t trouble Yu Nuannuan for long. Within a few days, she learned it was 1980.

No smartphones, no wireless internet.

Forget computers—even televisions were luxuries most people couldn’t afford.

Even the oldest rotary phones—there might only be one in an entire village.

The only thing Yu Nuannuan could take comfort in was that at least they had electricity.

Otherwise, if they had to burn oil lamps after dark, it would really be like living in ancient times.

She was a bit depressed, but not for long.

Compared to a world full of zombies and mutant plants and animals, this was still paradise.

Blue skies, clear water, fresh air—asking for anything more would be greedy.

Once she figured things out, Yu Nuannuan happily went back to eating and sleeping, and before long, her first month had passed."
