Chapter 20: Chapter 20: An Incredibly Amazing Little Fairy

Reborn in the 1980s Becoming the Group's Darling Little Lucky Treasure

On Gu Mobai’s soft, fair fingertip, there was a single black strawberry seed, which somehow looked rather cute.

“There are still plenty of strawberries left, that’s more than enough for you to eat!” Chen Qiaoqin tried to persuade Gu Mo. “If we grow too many, we won’t be able to finish them, and they’ll just go bad.”

Gu Mo nodded her little head. “Keep the seeds. Eat whenever you want.”

Chen Qiaoqin: “...”

What is going on in Gu Mo’s little head?

A toddler just over a year old should only care about eating, right? How is it that Gu Mo is already thinking about storing things for later?

Though she was both surprised and puzzled, since Gu Mo insisted, Chen Qiaoqin simply took the strawberries, found a needle, washed it clean, and carefully picked out all the seeds, placing them on a sheet of white paper.

While Chen Qiaoqin was busy, she didn’t notice that Yu Nuannuan had rolled over and sat up, her big round eyes fixed on Chen Qiaoqin’s every move.

Watching Chen Qiaoqin work, Yu Nuannuan suddenly had an idea.

She’d been here for half a year now, and she was deeply aware of just how poor the Yu family was.

It wasn’t that the Yu family were lazy or gluttonous—there just wasn’t much harvest from the fields, and with so many mouths to feed, it was already hard enough to keep everyone from going hungry. Anything extra was simply out of the question.

Take Yu Wei, the eldest of the grandchildren—he was already seven years old and still hadn’t started elementary school.

If she could earn some money in a short time, not only would life at home improve, but come autumn, Yu Wei might finally be able to go to school.

As Yu Nuannuan was calculating in her mind, her eyes never left Chen Qiaoqin.

She watched as Chen Qiaoqin finished picking all the seeds from a strawberry. Yu Nuannuan suddenly lunged forward, and her little hand just happened to land right on the paper covered with strawberry seeds.

Chen Qiaoqin was startled by Yu Nuannuan’s sudden movement. The first thing she did when she came to her senses was check the needle in her hand. Seeing that it was still there and hadn’t pricked Yu Nuannuan, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“Nuannuan, you—”

Before Chen Qiaoqin could finish her sentence, her words got stuck in her throat.

Because she saw that, under Yu Nuannuan’s hand, shoots and leaves of all sizes were sprouting out. The vines intertwined and wove together, quickly covering half the bed.

With just a single seed in her hand, Yu Nuannuan was able to continuously channel her powers, causing the tangled strawberry vines to blossom and bear fruit.

In just a minute or two, all the strawberries had ripened and stopped growing. Only then did Yu Nuannuan withdraw her hand.

Yu Nuannuan struggled to sit up, looking at her handiwork with immense satisfaction.

In her previous life, even before the apocalypse, strawberries were already expensive.

She figured strawberries must be even pricier now.

If she took these strawberries to sell, she should be able to make some money.

If the market was good, she could sell them every day!

The more Yu Nuannuan thought about it, the happier she became, and before she knew it, she was giggling out loud.

It was Yu Nuannuan’s laughter that snapped Chen Qiaoqin and Gu Mo out of their daze.

The two of them, one big and one small, blinked at the same time. Once they were sure they weren’t seeing things and that everything before them was real, they both gaped at Yu Nuannuan.

This wasn’t just a little fairy—she was an incredibly amazing fairy!

But after the shock and excitement, Chen Qiaoqin quickly began to worry.

What were they going to do with so many strawberries?

It wouldn’t be hard to hide them, but if they didn’t eat them, they’d just rot and go to waste.

What a shame that would be!"
