Chapter 74: Everyone Must Die

I Farm In The Apocalypse

At Jing Shu’s villa:

“What preparation?” Jing Shu queried, a sense of foreboding gnawing at her. Had she overlooked something?

“Crack!” The sound of her breaking a chopstick inadvertently brought all eyes at the dinner table to her, surprising even Wu You Ai, who hadn’t managed to break one despite trying hard.

“You and your antics,” Jing Mum scolded lightly, fetching a pair of stainless steel chopsticks from the kitchen. “Here, see if you can break these. And stop looking at your phone during meals. You’re obsessed!”

“Okay,” Jing Shu muttered, accepting the chopsticks and continuing to eat her noodles, though her eyes were still glued to the ongoing messages in the group chat.

Wang QiQi 13: “@Wang Xue Mei 2, what’s going on? Why are you talking like that? Are you unwell?”

Moments later, Wang Xue Mei sent a shocking video.

Upon clicking, the group saw a woman exposed under harsh light, stark naked and forcibly held down by several men on a sofa. Her body bore the marks of being lashed with a belt, her forehead bruised, and her face smeared with bloodied handprints. Her gaze into the camera was one of utter despair, a silent testament to a spirit thoroughly crushed.

Laughter and cheers sounded off-camera as the men continued their brutal assault, accompanied by the chilling slap of a belt against flesh and the woman's agonized screams, followed by horrific scenes better left undescribed. The timestamp showed it was during Wucheng’s brief electricity supply window.

The woman in the video was none other than Wang Xue Mei, aged forty.

The chopstick in Jing Shu’s grip snapped as she plunged it deep into the wooden table, drawing a stunned silence from her family. The lively dinner scene came to an abrupt halt.

“Did something happen?” Jing Dad asked, reaching out to touch his favorite redwood table, only to pull back upon confirming his daughter's fierce mood.

Realizing the gravity of the situation, Jing Mum began to tear up, holding Jing Shu close. “Don’t worry, I won’t let anything happen to you...”

Wang Xue Mei's voice messages played through the group chat:

“Didn’t expect me back, huh? Well, I’m here! You thought tying me up would kill me? Lucky for me, my group decided to take over this neighborhood today, and they came straight for me first. A brush with death only brings greater fortune, hahaha!”

Gou Yi Tian laughed maniacally, his voice thick with malice. “You all think you can escape? I initially planned to just rob you of your food and let you go. But now, I’ve changed my mind. I won’t spare any of the women, especially you, Jing Shu! I will make you suffer a fate far worse than Wang Xue Mei's!”

His hatred for Jing Shu was palpable, a venomous desire to see her utterly destroyed. The ultimate revenge for a man who felt utterly emasculated by her.

“Don’t worry, the main force is already heading to the villas. You’d better stay inside and wait clean. There are guards in every building with residents. It’s your turn soon, Jing Shu.”

“Don’t bother resisting; it will only make things worse for you. Calling the cops won’t help; they’re too busy dealing with an attack on the police station by another gang.”

“If anyone wants to join us, kill that b*tch in the villa and you're in.”

Silence descended upon the group, shattered only by the sound of a bowl breaking. The once warm and lively household now sat in a heavy, ominous silence, pondering their grim options.

Jing Dad finally broke the silence, hurling his phone in anger. “At a time like this, not a single person stands with us!”

As threats loomed closer, the family contemplated desperate measures. Jing Dad proposed rallying the neighborhood: “We must unite. We outnumber them. If they have knives, we have knives too!”

Gou Yi Tian responded mockingly, “Good luck with that.”

Jing Dad was incensed by the lack of support. Jing Shu, however, was ready. Over the past six months, she had prepared extensively, practicing archery and setting traps. Now, she was ready to defend her home.

“Everyone must die,” Jing Shu muttered, clenching her fists. Tonight, she was prepared to use every skill and trap at her disposal to protect her family at all costs.
