Chapter 60: Chapter 60

I Farm and Plant Trees in the Global Game

A sea of mondo grass flowers bloomed here. Behind a few thriving saplings stood a basic treehouse, and in the lawn before it was a round stone platform with a signboard.

[Plantation Camp Guidelines]

[The planting sub-camp is now open, with large tracts of land available for cultivation. Spend copper coins to teleport from anywhere in the territory to your rented plot in the plantation camp.]

[Teleportation fee: 1 copper coin per trip]

[Land rent: 2 silver coins per plot per month (10% discount for the first month)]

“Farmland!”

Zheng Jing was overjoyed. Farming was in every Chinese person’s bones.

She hurried back to inform her companions.

More and more people gathered at the teleportation array, and some discovered the newly opened Anong Seed Shop.

Zheng Jing and her group were the first to spend silver coins to rent a plot.

Mu Ying squatted in the new plantation, watching the activity outside.

She immediately spotted Zheng Jing and the others.

These white mist-like shields only blocked others’ view—she herself was unaffected.

From now on, even if she suddenly appeared somewhere in the territory with the old ox, no one would find it suspicious, and there was a legitimate source for her crops.

Mu Ying felt completely at ease as she drove the old ox to plow the entire plantation.

The old ox had grown much stronger, and with the power of a bull, it plowed effortlessly—like a living tractor.

Watching others struggle with hoes while she worked with the ox made her feel even more refreshed. Happiness really is relative.

“Hey, Old Huang, do you think there’s a market for ox rental services?”

Mu Ying stroked her chin.

“Moo~” The old ox bellowed happily—it wanted to go out and earn money!

Liu Luoluo’s ears twitched. “Aqing, did you hear a cow moo?”

“I did,” Si Qing nodded.

“Do you think Big Boss Mu is here plowing with her ox? She must be a big land renter,” Liu Luoluo said confidently. After all, Mu Ying was the only one in the camp with a cow, even if it hadn’t been seen for a while."

"After working all day at the plantation, Mu Ying finally managed to clear a patch of land for the vegetable garden, and the seedlings in the basket were transplanted as well.

Feeling a strong sense of accomplishment, Mu Ying led the ox straight to her doorstep via teleportation, only to bump right into Lu You, who was squatting under her treehouse.

The two stared at each other in silence for a second before Lu You spoke first. “Did you go to the planting camp? Where’d you get the ox?”

“I borrowed it from a farmer before, used it as a mount. Now it can help plow the fields. Want to rent it? One copper coin per plot—it plows real fast,” Mu Ying immediately pitched.

The old yellow ox raised its chin and let out a moo, looking at him expectantly.

“Uh, alright, I’ll rent it,” Lu You agreed, feeling like this ox was almost sentient, but one copper coin wasn’t expensive anyway.

Mu Ying took the coin. “Just come pick it up tomorrow morning.”

With that, she was about to climb up to her treehouse.

“Hey, wait! I came to find you for something else—something big!” Lu You slapped his forehead, almost forgetting his main purpose because of her.

Mu Ying eyed him suspiciously, hesitated a moment, and then let him inside to talk.

Lu You looked around curiously at this “luxurious” house.

Before the apocalypse, this kind of setup might have been ordinary, but now, every piece of furniture here was worth a fortune.

“So extravagant!” Lu You couldn’t help but exclaim.

“What are you mumbling about?” Mu Ying invited him to sit and poured him a glass of plain water.

“After we killed the goblin yesterday, we went to check out that brown bear’s den and found a dungeon entrance. But we didn’t feel safe going in alone, so we wanted to ask you to come explore with us. Who knew you’d disappear all day…” Lu You looked at her with resentment—only he knew how long he’d waited outside her house today.

Mu Ying ignored his look and asked in surprise, “A dungeon entrance?”

Dungeons were a new thing that appeared after the monster invasion. According to the forums, they were giant portals of light, leading to another world inside—players called these places “dungeons.”

Across the sea, the Neon Country was the first to discover a dungeon. On the forums, this particular dungeon was called “Dragon’s Lair” because there was a red dragon and many gnolls inside.

The first to discover it was the strongest team from the Fushan Camp—only one person managed to escape, but he made a huge haul, bringing out lots of gold coins from the Dragon’s Lair.

Rumor had it that the entire lair was filled with treasure.

The monsters inside the dungeon were far beyond the current level of any player—high risk, high reward. So, after the first discovery, people would only enter after making thorough preparations.

There had never been any news of a dungeon around Coastal City before.

Mu Ying was very interested and agreed to Lu You’s invitation, setting the time for tomorrow morning.

After seeing Lu You off, Mu Ying had dinner and immediately began her trial.

From now on, her focus would be on this new world.

Once she started the trial, time would also pass in the Block World. She’d already assigned tasks to the villagers there, so now she just needed to go in periodically and convert the resources they collected into source energy.

On the character creation page, she still used her real name.

But this time, her trial character didn’t just appear randomly.

[High-compatibility character selection for the Emerald World trial complete. Please choose one of the following characters:]

[1. Orphaned Green Witch about to enroll in school (Compatibility: 92%)]

[2. Sleeping Princess of the Thorn Kingdom (Compatibility: 72%)]

[3. Mermaid of the Undersea Kingdom (Compatibility: 55%)]

[Note: High-compatibility character selection takes priority over birthplace and identity adjustment functions.]

Judging by status alone, the princess was clearly better than an orphan, but the word “witch” was much more intriguing—obviously not an ordinary person.

This time, the character even came with a background and social connections, and being an orphan seemed safer.

Mu Ying always reminded herself that the purpose of these trials was to enhance her abilities in the real world, and gaining access to a new kind of magical power was a great opportunity.
